DECEMBER 2, 2014: Birmingham, AL based MCM Technology has announced that The United States Coast Guard has renewed its support and maintenance contract for MCM’s CommSHOP 360º software solution via Chartis Consulting. The Coast Guard began using MCM’s proprietary asset and work order management platform in 2012 to manage the radio and communications assets used in its 1,400 vessels. The project expanded this past year to include the management of certain assets on its 211 aircraft. And just recently, the USCG renewed its annual support and maintenance contract through Chartis Consulting, which is a Falls Church, VA based organization and small business prime contractor on the Department of Homeland Security’s enterprise-wide contract for Tactical Communications Equipment and Services. MCM and Chartis have been working collaboratively on a number of projects, and expect to engage in several additional Federal homeland security engagements in the near future.
Commenting on the relationship with Chartis, as well as the Coast Guard project, MCM’s President Tom Bartels said, “Working with the professionals at Chartis has been an incredible experience. They are a first-class organization and exhibit knowledge, experience and maturity way beyond their years.” Bartels continued, “MCM employees take pride in the fact that they are contributing to the improvement of US homeland security as the Coast Guard uses its solution to properly track and maintain its mission-critical communications assets.”
Chris Knight, Vice President at Chartis added, “MCM’s expertise and solutions are a perfect fit for many of the clients we serve. Chartis’ expertise lies in reducing costs and driving operational and organizational efficiencies to higher levels. In today’s environment of strained budgets and limited capital, Chartis works diligently to find cutting edge solutions and tools that can be implemented so that Federal agencies can operate more efficiently. To say that we are pleased with the MCM solution and its professional staff would be an understatement.”
In addition to the US Coast Guard, other large North American MCM clients include the likes of Harris and Montgomery Counties in Texas; Houston, TX; Pima County, AZ; Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority (Reagan National & Dulles); Boston, MA; Marin County, CA; among a host of others. Chartis supports a broad portfolio of homeland security, public safety, law enforcement, and other civilian federal clients, as well as several large commercial and non-profit organizations.
